Who You Are:
The Associate Scientist/Scientist AAV Research will be responsible for all technical laboratory activities to support Bridgebio’s Gene Therapy (BBGT) delivery platform development. This role is a hands-on, laboratory-based position in our Raleigh, NC laboratory and reports to the Senior Scientist AAV Research. The Associate Scientist/Scientist AAV Research closely collaborates with R&D and CMC team members to develop and evaluate novel strategies to generate improved recombinant AAV particles.

• Perform in vitro experiments, including planning, execution, data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation, as well as troubleshooting
• Support the development of analytical assays
• Ensure that information is accurately recorded
• Handle and test animal samples and AAV materials
• Assist in small-scale vector production and purification
• Maintain sample inventory
• Prepare presentation materials and report data at internal meetings
• Interface closely with other team members to ensure on-time completion of goals

Job Requirements

• BS/MS/Ph.D. in virology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years of experience
• Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
• Cell culture experience, including transfection and transduction techniques using Adeno-Associated Virus
• Competence in molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA isolation procedures, cloning, and detection assays (ddPCR, qPCR)
• Experience in virus production and purification is desirable
• Familiarity with methods to assess protein expression (Western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry) is desirable
• Attention to detail, capability to interpret scientific data, strong problem-solving skills, thorough documentation practice
• A team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
• A healthy level of self-confidence paired with receptiveness to feedback
• A good listener with a positive attitude who strives to foster a culture of innovation
