Panaceutics Nutrition is a personalized wellness company that has developed a non-pill based technology for providing customized formulas for dietary supplements and nutrition applications. Panaceutics patented manufacturing platform allows for on-demand production of custom formulations that can be tailored for an individual or for small to medium size market segments. Panaceutics Nutrition is currently scaling its operations in both Research Triangle Park, NC and Danville, VA to meet the expanding demand for personalized nutrition with its growing multi-national business partner(s) and is looking for an enthusiastic Lead Software and Controls Engineer.
As Lead Software and Controls Engineer you will act as an integral part of the engineering and fully supply chain team. You will be in a team of engineers executing the design, development, implementation, and testing of web connected industrial equipment that produce precisely dosed personalized nutritional supplements in an FDA regulated process. You will also work closely with senior leadership and development team members to create new technology capabilities based on evolving market and client demands.
Stand up test systems to collect data to assist in business and technical decision making.
Design, implement, and test multithreaded, object oriented, C++11 Linux applications for multiple industrial machines that communicate with cloud servers using RESTful APIs.
Build, test, and deploy multi-parameter closed loop PID control systems in C++11.
Select and install processors, sensors, and other electrical hardware.
Write OOP C++ Linux drivers for communicating and controlling devices over TCP.
Create modular Node.js backend applications to deliver real time, online operational reports in easy to read visual formats for Quality Assurance and production management.
Analyze machines to verify and quantify operational performance and troubleshoot production problems.
Build and maintain Linux environments used for development and machine operation.
Create engineering best practices for documentation of requirements, design, and testing.
Design and implement control systems using Allen Bradley PLCs.
Be instrumental in the physical and regulatory operation of two FDA regulated manufacturing facilities.
Serve as an onsite software and hardware IT support for all employees.
Machine control design
Working with large distributed real time control systems
Software integration of physical devices (motors, sensors, valve banks, etc)
Closed loop control algorithm implementation
Electrical system design and physical implementation
Human Machine Interface (HMI) creation
Technical and operational documentation creation and maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
The major tools/languages we use to do machine control:
Ladder logic (PLC controls)
Software version control (GIT)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant area. Advanced degree preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a flexible environment in an early stage company.
