Job Description


Conduct and assist in product development and research efforts to develop tissue-based regenerative medicine products for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension and other lung diseases.

· Record all laboratory data in the in-house data management system(s).
· Routinely prepare and record use of materials and reagents needed to carry out experiments.
· Assist with preparation of lung scaffolds for tissue engineering experiments, cannulate and load scaffolds into bioreactor chambers, and seed scaffolds with pulmonary cells.
· Assist with preparation and perform cell culture activities to support tissue engineering production runs.
· Routinely perform maintenance, cleaning, sterilization, and set-up of bioreactors for tissue engineering production runs.
· Routinely assist in functional evaluation of tissue engineered test articles.
· Follow prescribed laboratory methods and protocols under GLP/GMP-like conditions.
· Routinely operate bioreactors and fluid handling systems.
· Follow proper procedures regarding laboratory safety, use of personal protective equipment, and handling of biohazard materials, including human or animal cells and tissues.

Job Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in life science, engineering, biomedical science, biomedical manufacturing, or a related field. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
· 1-3 years of GLP or GMP laboratory employment preferred, relevant course work or project-based undergraduate research experience may be considered
· Facility with appropriate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and related standard software
· Experience with laboratory instrumentation and data software
· Aseptic technique
· Tissue handling and dissection
· Good written and oral communication skills
