Product Development Internship - Cohesion Phenomics

Cohesion Phenomics, LLC is a CLIA-certified high complexity molecular diagnostic company. We develop and provide genetic testing for inherited cardiovascular diseases. Our operational integrity and professional competence has lead to partnerships with hospital systems in NC. Our personalized genetics services helps physicians to appropriately treat and manage patients and their families.
This is an intensive and rigorous summer internship in a clinical molecular diagnostic lab. The internship is structured to provide the requisite hands-on training and education in DNA sequencing and analysis. This lays the framework for a sound foundation and understanding of the regulatory environment we work in.The intent is to hire an intern with intellect and desire to impact patient care.
This internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week over 6 weeks, and is available starting in May.

Prerequisite Courses: Candidates should have successfully completed a college level Genetics course. Completion of a Microbiology and/or a Biochemistry course is highly encouraged.
Prerequisite Skills: Candidates should have experience in the following areas: DNA gel electrophoresis, pipetting, and PC/MAC computer skills. Candidates should also have good hand-eye coordination, be highly organized, and have strong math skills.

Selected candidate must fully understand current HIPPA laws. A candidate may be dismissed from the internship if he/she is found to be in violation of HIPPA laws.
