We seek motivated individuals at the Research Associate I level to join the In Vivo Pharmacology team to advance translational and R&D stage rAAV programs. This position will be contributing to the preclinical work of different target disease indications and the selection of a lead candidate for gene therapy. The position requires handling and processing animal tissues from different species to perform a variety of molecular assays such as qPCR, RT-PCR, Western blot, etc. Strong technical and laboratory documentation skills are critical. This is an approximate 90% lab-based position in a BSL II material laboratory.
Perform laboratory techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and other duties as assigned.
Actively participate in various aspects internal and external (CRO) in vivo studies, such as performing specified analyses on tissue samples and basic knowledge for IHC and IF.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date record of laboratory activities via electronic documentation.
Understand and interpret experiments that contribute to project goals, and conduct troubleshooting analysis.
Maintain records of all experiments perform in the lab via Benchling and participate in generating reports.
Technical writing of procedures and protocols.
Perform other responsibilities as needed.
B.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related disciplines
Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Must have excellent attention to detail, along with organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communications
Must be a self-motivated and driven professional who can effectively perform in a rapidly changing, small company environment
Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills
M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related disciplines
Previous experience working in a biotech environment
Relevant knowledge and industrial experience in the field of gene therapy development.
