Job Description


A successful applicant will have at least a PhD level training in Engineering, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline and have a minimum of 2 years industry experience. The Senior Scientist will be responsible for molding and shaping cellular scaffolds comprised of an extracellular matrix, fabricating masters using photolithography, forming patterned thin films from photoresists, equipment maintenance, and other work as assigned. The position reports to a Senior Scientist. Attention to detail, following SOPs or other established methods, and appropriate record keeping in the form of an electronic laboratory notebook is a must. The candidate should be able to follow detailed fabrication procedures, observe and evaluate outcomes of these procedures, and record details and results in an accurate, organized manner. The candidate should be able to work in a rapidly-changing R&D environment, with the ability to identify issues, modify procedures, and make improvements throughout a product’s development cycle. The candidate should have experience in the microfabrication of using commonly used techniques and tools. Experience with basic microfabrication processing (photolithography, micromolding) is preferred.

Job Requirements


- PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline
- 2+ years of industry laboratory experience
- Microfabrication experience and familiarity with basic techniques
- Experience in handling extracellular matrices or other hydrogels would be advantageous
- Experience with human primary stem cell culture would be a plus
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn CAD programs
- Able to have flexible hours, including some weekends
