Job Description


POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Quality Control Statistician is responsible for data collection and analysis related to laboratory control charts, laboratory data trending, inter-laboratory studies, stability testing, and other analyses as needed. This position is also responsible for proposing solutions and continuous improvement activities for Winston-Salem. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: • Interface with R&D/Technical Operations, Quality Control, and other stakeholders regarding laboratory test results. • Provide analytical support and problem-solving to facilitate Quality Control activities, including accelerated and real time stability testing. • Evaluate and propose best practice for setting and utilizing SPC. • Analyze data trending generated for process improvement projects. • Analyze intra-laboratory collaborative and generate report for senior leadership. • Assist with the development of metric driven dashboards to identify trends and improvement opportunities. • Collaborate with continuous improvement personnel to drive metric driven decision making. • Provide basic statistical training to laboratory personnel. • Evaluate specifications data for trending and special cause variation. • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: Required • Strong analytical background and research skills to evaluate complex data and drive solutions • Ability to convert analysis into insights • Knowledge of statistical software (i.e., Minitab, SPSS, SAS) • Ability to translate complex statistical analyses to non-mathematical personnel • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills • Display personal accountability for results and integrity • Exhibits positive people skills, and a team approach to problem resolution • Exhibits drive for continuous improvement • Demonstrated initiative and capability to work independently • Demonstrated capability to turn abstract concepts into tangible work product with moderate supervision
Experience: Required • Proficient in the use of SPC software tools • Advanced Excel skills • Proven ability to communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians

Education: Required • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics and 2+ years of related experience or Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics Preferred • Master’s degree in Statistics
