Job Description


Specialty pharmaceutical firm headquartered in Research Triangle Park, NC, is actively recruiting for a highly accomplished and strategic Marketing leader to drive the launch and ongoing marketing efforts of a newly acquired drug, as well as other products in its growing portfolio.

This is a high profile, high impact role and company will offer rich compensation package, including relo support, to attract and retain a star.

Key Things to Note:

This Executive Director will develop, implement and manage the brand strategy for one of the company’s premier products. Seek an innovator and implementer who gets things done.
This is a $100 million brand marketed to a wide range of specialists as well as internal medicine and GP docs. Seek strategist with a keen understanding of the nuances of marketing to varying specialties.
The multichannel strategy will include a heavy focus on direct-to-consumer social media outreach. Right candidate will bring experience and savvy in the digital marketing space.
There are several licensing partners on this brand, and related experience would be valuable.
The company relies upon a team of high quality agencies to handle various aspects of marketing strategy execution. Seek candidate accustomed to directing the work of strategic vendors.
This is an emerging company in high growth mode. Right candidate will be a hands-on marketing professional who brings the insight and ingenuity to contribute to complex business solutions, while also being flexible, resourceful and can-do.
Selected duties will include:

Hire, lead and manage brand team personnel
Lead the effective transition of acquired brand. Ensure maintenance and rationalization of all agency relationships and initiatives including conventions, market research, advisory boards, medical education programs, opinion leader relationships, etc.
Develop and deploy multichannel US strategies to achieve financial and market share goals with current and future indications for brand.
Partner with agencies and other experts as needed to develop and deploy strategic and persuasive digital marketing campaigns.
Forecast and manage the annual marketing budget for brand.
Integrate with Sales Leadership, Sales Training, Sales Operations and Business Insights Teams as well as other brand teams and functional groups.
Provide support in managing commercial relationships and reporting needs with licensing partners.
Provide support to the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process for assigned brand.
Lead development of monthly business reviews. Create and manage marketing initiatives for assigned product(s) including field promotional materials, marketing campaigns across a variety of digital platforms, patient education, professional programs, and advertising.
We seek a highly capable, knowledgeable, mission-driven and impactful leader for this critical position.

Selected candidate will offer a related degree (MBA preferred) and 8+ years of increasingly responsible roles in pharmaceutical marketing. Experience in both large and emerging pharma settings is highly desirable.

Other priorities include:

Successful experience driving complex product launch, ideally for $100 million brand or similar
Substantial direct-to-patient digital marketing experience and know-how
Exceptional project leadership skills including the demonstrated ability to direct the efforts of large, disparate teams to achieve shared goals
Seasoned and acute business savvy
Practiced and proven staff development skills
Longevity and achievement in previous roles
