Job Description

The Systems Design Technician is responsible for assisting in the build and development of manufacturing systems to be used for deploying bioMASON technologies in novel infrastructural applications. This role will work closely with Engineers to ensure novel systems are functional and running as designed. This position will be a part of the Field Systems Team.
This role will be based in Durham/RTP, NC.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities
Fabrication of assemblies and prototypes for manufacturing systems as directed by Engineering.
Hands-on prototype testing, creative problem solving, and design-build iteration.
Collects data on prototype performance and coordinates information with the Engineering and Field Systems teams.
Provides training, instruction, maintenance, and calibration of operational field systems.
At times, will work in the field for maintenance and repair of systems.
Coordinates with internal and external resources to satisfy project requirements and achieve project goals.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor or Associates Degree in a relevant field.
Previous work in an assembly, fabrication or trade environment with hands on experience.
Competency in power tools, CNC operation, cutting, welding, and mechanical assembly.
Understanding safe work practices and adherence to safety procedures.
Ability to work with a small team under tight deadlines.

Additional Preferred Attributes
Experience in technical writing, reporting, and milestone-driven applications research.
Fabrication experience with multiple materials including metals and polymers.
Experience with low-voltage electrical and mechanical systems.
