Job: Intern - Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing, Precision BioSciences, Durham, NC
The Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing Intern is a full time (40 hours/week) Summer Internship that will help further the Strategic Sourcing pillar of our Supply Chain organization and report to our Raw Materials Category Manager. This role will help to develop Standard Sourcing Analysis model for supplier commercials analysis and supplier comparison. This role will also conduct market intelligence studies for specific categories as needed and leverage strategic frameworks in sourcing and supply chain to enable supplier choices and make decisions. Responsibilities also include performing spend analytics to enable prioritization of strategic sourcing and leveraging e-sourcing software, creating templates and conducting RFP events.

Conduct market intelligence on best practices and metrics to apply to the function
Develop recommendations on which metrics we should pursue and how to obtain the data
Develop analytical models to support maintaining recommended metrics
Enable and further develop strategic sourcing processing and templates for e-sourcing and for RFP bid analytics
Apply strategic frameworks to the function and recommend a functional improvement
Collect strategic sourcing spend and RFP bid data and build standard analytical frameworks that can be applied as templates across future RFPs and analytics
Review Strategic Sourcing Portfolio
Conduct market research to support identification of dual sources for critical raw materials
Perform spend analytics to identify areas of focus for strategic sourcing and cost savings initiatives
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
Current MBA or graduate student concentrating in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Biotechnology or related discipline
Experience or interest within a sourcing, materials management or supply chain related function; industry experience preferred but not required
Experience with data analytics, including advanced Excel analytics and/or Tableau with the ability to develop data dashboards to translate deep data sets into meaningful metrics and visual representations
Ability to develop and augment data sets via aggregation of multiple disparate data sources
This is an office-based position located at the main headquarters in downtown Durham, NC.
