Job: Research Animal Technician, Cereius, Inc., Durham, NC
Research Animal Technician
Durham, NC 27701 United States
Cereius PO #233
This position is a full-time salaried position with negotiable compensation depending on the applicant’s commensurate skill set and experience.
Research and Development
Cereius is a rapidly growing start-up company focused on the preclinical validation and development of our therapeutic pipeline. Our leadership comprises internationally renowned thought leaders in clinical oncology and radiopharmaceutical development with 20+ years of operational experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry. As of September 2019, we closed a Seed round of financing, as well as a competitive NCBiotech Small Business Loan. To help expand our preclinical development capabilities, we are seeking a motivated Research Animal Technician to join our R&D team full-time.
Interested applicants would join our research team with a focus on the preclinical evaluation of our therapeutic candidate pipeline. Primary responsibilities for this role would include managing mouse colonies (non-breeding), establishing xenograft tumor models, supporting surgical inoculation procedures, performing cell line passaging, and measuring and tracking animals during experiments. Secondary responsibilities would also include assisting the R&D team with protein purification and performing in vitro assays.
As these activities will require off-site travel to animal housing facilities, prospective applicants should have reliable access to their own vehicle. In addition, facility availability may require occasional work on weekends. However, this role WILL NOT require the transport of animals, nor will technicians be required to handle radionuclides.
Competitive individuals will be highly reliable, self-motivated, team-centric, and adaptable to the flexible nature inherent in biotech start-ups.
