Job Description

Looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Regenerative Medicine Group at United Therapeutics. The position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and stimulating environment for up to 12 months and gain insight and experience into the Regenerative Medicine Field. The applicant will participate in variety of activities related to the production of decellularized scaffolds for in vitro and in vivo experiments to meet departmental and company objectives.

• Preparation of required materials, samples, and solutions
• Performance of decellularization-related processes
• Handling and surgical preparation of primary tissues and decellularized scaffolds
• Documentation of process
• Performance of assays and measures to assess quality of solutions and materials
• Help maintain smooth operations of the lab, including maintaining lab supplies, monitoring equipment, and providing lab support

Job Requirements

Required Skills:
• Proven organizational skills with great attention to detail and quality of work
• Be capable of working well within a team environment
• Demonstrate a flexible, adaptable, and a pro-active approach to tasks
• Ability and willingness to learn and follow established protocols in a consistent manner
• The applicant must be physically capable of moving or lifting heavy objects
• Proficient computer skills utilizing Word and Excel for basic applications
• Prior experience with standard laboratory equipment ex: pipettes, balance and automated systems ex: autoclave, parts or other automated laboratory equipment

Minimum degree and field of knowledge:
• An associate or bachelor's degree in biological sciences is required and prior employment in a GLP- or GMP-setting is desired
• Recommended experience: One to three years of GLP or GMP laboratory employment preferred, relevant course work or project-based undergraduate research experience may be considered
• Previously developed and proven proficiency with tissue handling and dissection in addition to aseptic technique
