Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Electronics/Electrical Engineer will have a background in analog mixed signal design and work closely with a cross-functional new product development (NPD) team focused on a next generation drug delivery device. They will be responsible for design of electronic circuits (analog and digital), PCB layout, embedded firmware design, and building and testing of the resulting circuits and systems. The engineer will participate in the overall design of the drug delivery system and will be challenged to develop circuits, subsystems, and systems that can be used for this platform technology. The individual will be expected to take projects from beginning to end with minimal supervision and work effectively with other members of the project team.

You must be authorized to work in the USA to be considered for this position. Either a US citizen or possession of a valid permanent resident card is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for analog/mixed signal design solutions for drug delivery
Work closely with NPD and Technicians to design, fabricate, program, and test circuit boards.
Documenting design towards formal design reviews
Work with product design and engineering teams by providing feedback on product electrical/mechanical performance, including failure modes and design improvements.
Defining production/bench-level test plans, analyzing test results, and preparing detail test reports
Design for ESD compliance
Driving/reviewing yield and lab test results to drive bug fixes
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

In depth hands-on experience and understanding of a wide range of electrical systems including digital, embedded, analog, and power management
Hands-on experience in embedded programming
Hands-on experience in analog/digital circuit design down to the component and discrete level
PCB design including schematic capture, layout, and simulation tools
Experience leading test plan development & execution of tests for new system/product development
Experience in testing circuit boards and modules
Experience in circuit board soldering, assembly, and debug
Experience with Texas Instrument 430 Micro-Controller family of equipment
Experience with testing of aerosol deposition and particle size is desired but not required
Previous experience in medical device or drug development desirable
Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, physics or similar technical field with a minimum of 10 years of mixed signal circuit design and experience in a laboratory environment
