Job Description

Position Overview:
Coordinate and manage work flow for laboratory operations in support of research efforts to develop tissue-based regenerative medicine products for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension and other lung diseases.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
• Receive, unpack and store all incoming shipments of laboratory equipment and supplies
• Update and maintain laboratory inventory system, including master supply list, min/max values, vendor reorder information, addition of new items, and removal of obsolete items
• Establish and maintain inventory Kanban card system on stockroom shelves and in supply areas throughout the laboratory
• Responsible for daily monitoring and restocking of laboratory consumables and supplies as needed
• Notify lab staff of receipt of ordered goods and place in various receivables storage locations
• Maintain stockroom organization and supplies - ensure proper cycling of supplies (first in first out) and monitor supply expiration dates
• Coordinate laboratory equipment installations and relocations, including asset tag and alarm monitoring system placement
• Maintain equipment list and perform equipment inventory
• Coordinate outgoing shipments to external vendors and collaborators
• Act as backup for laboratory support functions as needed (parts washer & autoclave runs, laboratory cleaning & maintenance, etc.)
• Collect, package and transport laboratory biohazardous waste to dock area for pickup by external vendor
• Collect laboratory recycling materials and transport to dock area for pickup by housekeeping staff
• Collect chemical waste and place in secondary storage location for pickup by external vendor
• Receive weekly deliveries of dry ice and compressed gases
• Coordinate delivery and organization of laboratory clothing/gowning with external vendor (lab coats, scrubs, etc.)
• Check laboratory gas cylinders and swap out as needed; check levels of laboratory gas microbulk tanks and notify external vendor as refills are needed
• Transport pallets of materials from dock to storage areas
• Break down cardboard boxes and remove pallets & other packaging materials for recycling
• Additional duties as needed

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma, or AA/AS, or BA/BS degree
• 2+ years industry experience with HS diploma or 0-2 years of post-college experience preferred, but willing to train highly motivated individual

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Good team member skills; must work well with others
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to utilize email, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Ability to initiate and manage day-to-day tasks effectively and with limited supervision
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to independently follow standard protocols
• Highly self-motivated
