Job Description


Job Summary: The responsibilities of the Decontamination Process Technician include collection, decontamination, sterilization, neutralization and inactivation of process waste in the facility. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the non-process waste and recycling programs for the facility.

The primary responsibilities for the Specialist I- Decontamination Process Technician include:
• Providing support in the site Decontamination area by processing the sites manufacturing liquid and solid waste
• Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, shoveling, and conducting basic cleaning services in the decon area
• Operation of industrial sterilization autoclave
• Cleaning and minor maintenance of decontamination room and equipment
• Operation of pH waste neutralization system
• Operation of liquid waste inactivation system
• Monitoring of water usage and waste levels
• Fully understand, follow, and enforce the site safety procedures
• Assist in warehousing duties as needed
• Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends and be on call in the event of equipment, building or personnel problems.

Job Requirements


Education and Experience Required:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Background experience in an FDA regulated industry or the military is a strong plus
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
• 3 or more years in a manufacturing, industrial, or military facility is a plus
• Ability to coordinate with maintenance personnel or outside service providers
• Must be able to work safety and follow standard operating procedures
• High level of time management and organizational skills
• Occasional requirements to stand, up to 6 hours a day; walk; reach with hands and arm and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds and move totes and carts during processing
