Job Description


Position Overview:
Conduct and assist in research efforts to develop novel cell and cell-based products for treating pulmonary hypertension and other lung diseases.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Routinely perform large-scale primary lung cell culture in 2D and 3D to support process development activities for a tissue engineered product
• Assist with generation and maintenance of all master and working cell banks.
• Follow prescribed laboratory methods and protocols under GLP/GMP-like conditions
• Routinely perform media formulation in accordance to defined protocols
• Routinely perform bioanalytical assays to phenotypically and functionally characterize cells (such as flow cytometry, IHC, protein analysis)
• Execute process development studies to improve yield, purity, and quality of primary lung cell types.
• Present and discuss data with laboratory staff and program leaders.
• Identify problems and devise solutions to overcome technical issues.
• Participate in the evaluation of new technologies.
• May contribute to or generate technical reports

Job Requirements


Minimum Requirements:
• 1+ years of experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, flow cytometry preferred
• Experience in molecular assays, cellular assays, and fluorescence microscopy preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, biotechnology or Biomedical Sciences
• Facility with appropriate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and related standard software. Experience with laboratory instrumentation and data software.
