Job Description

SoilMetrix is an agronomic solutions provider with offerings that replace physical soil sampling with virtual soil sampling by using remotely sensed imagery powered with AI technology to precisely and accurately predict soil nutrients and properties in real-time and creating management zones for variable rate input applications.

Internship Activities*
The goals of the intern project are to improve analysis and reporting of soil management zones by assisting with analytics using SAS or other data analysis tools, research and propose ways to express accuracy and performance to stakeholders and investors, and explore how cultural soil management practices influence predictive quality and accuracy of soil maps.

This internship requires a commitment of 20 hours per week over 12 weeks, and is available starting immediately (start date is flexible).

This internship is supported in part by a grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center through the Industrial Internship Program.

Job Requirements

Experience using cloud-based machine learning applications such as SAS Viya or similar applications. Knowledge of supervised machine learning algorithms for Regression like Random Forest, Artificial Neural Networks, Gradient Boost a plus. An undergraduate or graduate student in Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Start date is flexible.
