Job Description

At Ramona Optics, we’re combining machine learning with novel optics to reinvent what’s possible with a
microscope. Founded by Caltech graduates, Ramona Optics is developing the first gigapixel microscope that can
capture cellular-level detail over an entire square foot. This unprecedented resolution and field-of-view
combination can increase efficiencies along the inspection line, speed up diagnostic throughput in the clinic, and
enable new experiments in the lab — opening up whole new horizons in the fields of life sciences, biomedical
research, material inspection and beyond.

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to help bring Ramona Optics’ next generation of
smart gigapixel microscopes to life. The person in this role will work closely with the company’s founders to push
the limits of Ramona’s existing technology and help the business grow and evolve as we continue to develop our
products and enter new markets. They will create the bridge between the information acquisition hardware and
the high-level analysis software. They will also be intimately involved in high-level decisions about Ramona’s
hardware design, which will be integral to managing the large volumes of data acquired by the company’s novel
imaging system -- 10s of gigabytes per second!
