Group Leader/Manager for BioAg Application Development, RTP, NC
We are seeking a results-oriented individual with a passion for developing beneficial microbes for crops to lead our Application Development team in the BioAg Alliance. We seek a manager that has passion for working with others, has experience in building high performance teams and that facilitate networking both internally and externally. We need a person that together with the rest of the leadership team can create clarity and empower employees leading to high engagement and a fun place to work.
You need to be visionary and out of the box thinker, that can help Novozymes to unlock sustainable biological solutions to transform the existing Ag space. You and the team of researchers you lead will be responsible for understanding microbes’ mode of action and their interaction with plants, soil and other microbes applying a diverse range of assay and imaging technologies. Using custom databases, you will correlate the results to field data and provide input for improvement for our microbial discovery activities. You will support product development with efficacy data and provide documentation for regulatory strategy or submission. You will secure that scientific approaches, knowledge capture and knowledge sharing are an integral part of the daily work flow and ensure strong collaboration and stakeholder management with key departments in Novozymes and with our BioAg Alliance partner. As a member of the BioAg Microbial and Application Research team, you will actively participate in strategy setting for the area’s technical and organizational goals, and coordinate and prioritize project resources.

In this position you need to:
•Have a M.S. or Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Plant Physiology, Microbiology or related field with substantial experience in the area of plant-microbe-soil interactions.
•Have 8+ years of relevant industry experience
•Have a solid record of and interest in people leadership, with at least 4 years of experience managing a team of 5+ RA’s and Scientists.
•Have experience effectively managing multiple projects with appropriate attention to detail and communicating project progress, deviations and results to stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion.
•Have experience working with external partners and demonstrated great collaboration skills and stakeholder management
•Be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future
