Experienced Quality Associate (Lab Instrumentation/cGMP)-Contract to Start

Our client, an RTP area medical device company in high growth mode, is actively recruiting for a very sharp and conscientious Quality professional to join its Quality Assurance team.
This company is producing cutting edge products in the cardiovascular space, and is planning for substantial growth. This is a contract position, with potential for long-term/perm for the right candidate. If you are someone you know would be interested, we would be eager to speak with you.
Key things to note:
Role will focus on UV-Vis. Familiarity strongly preferred.
This QA Associate will primarily work in the lab. Understanding of general laboratory procedures to reliably conduct analyses and operate lab instrumentation will be important.
This Associate will employ physical chemistry techniques (pipet dispensing, pH meters, microbalances, sonicator). Seek candidate with similar exposure.
This is a growing company where policies and procedures are still being developed. Seek adaptable and versatile candidate who can contribute to the strategy.
Responsibilities will include:
Inspect work in progress and finished goods
Conduct testing of pharmaceutical samples by UV-Vis spectroscopy
Prepare chemical reagents, media, and solutions needed for testing
Perform functional testing of medical device products using both automated and manual testing equipment, such as Hydraulic Burst/Leak Tester
Perform functional testing of medical device packaging using both automated and manual testing equipment, such as package seal strength peel testing (Instron Tensile Tester) and bubble leak testing
Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection of product and components per procedure, specification, or drawings using measuring equipment (i.e. caliper, micrometer, tape, height gauge, etc.)
Assist in the investigation and resolution of out of specification (OOS) and/or non-Conforming materials (NCMR) and product related issues
Conduct work in compliance with GMP, GLP, safety and regulatory guidelines
This is an immediate and important role. Compensation will be dependent on experience.
Right candidate will offer a related degree and 3+ years of experience in a Quality role within a GMP/GLP compliant clean room setting. Other priorities include:
A thorough understanding of general laboratory procedures
Experience with physical chemistry techniques such as pipet dispensing, pH meters, microbalances, etc.
Experience preparing chemical reagents, media, and solutions needed for testing
Experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy strongly preferred
Consistent and compliant documentation
Keen attention to detail
Longevity and growth in previous roles
