Job: Business Development Internship - Locus Biosciences, Inc., -, RTP, NC
Business Development Internship - Locus Biosciences, Inc.
RTP, NC 27709 United States
$3000 + TBD by company
is an emerging biotechnology company developing precision antimicrobial products that direct the powerful CRISPR-Cas3 nuclease to target and kill bacterial cells by irreversibly destroying DNA. These products avoid currently-known antibiotic resistance mechanisms while sparing non-target bacteria. Locus recently closed a $19M Series A financing led by ARTIS Ventures that will fund the company through completion of a Phase 1 human proof-of-concept study in our first indication in 2019. With the Series A closed, we are advancing conversations with leading pharmaceutical companies who have infectious disease and microbiome partnership interests. While these partnerships may involve one or more of our current lead assets (targeting C. difficile, E. coli, and P. aeruginosa), we also expect to leverage Locus’ CRISPR-Cas3 platform to collaboratively develop products against new targets driven by the partners.
