Lab Research Analyst II


The Duke Molecular Physiology Institute (DMPI), a part of Duke University Medical Center, occupies a place of national and international leadership in the fight against major diseases. Our mission is to produce integrated multi-omics and physiologic profiles of chronic human diseases, and to use such profiles to develop new disease detection strategies, novel therapies, and insights into disease mechanisms.

The Lab Research Analyst II will join the DMPI laboratory which focuses on Osteoarthritis research. This group works to develop novel tools to aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, and effective intervention of the disease. The laboratory has ongoing basic research projects involving in vitro and animal model systems as well as biomedical clinical research and translational medicine trials in Osteoarthritis in humans. The Lab Research Analyst will be responsible for independently planning and performing experiments, preparing tissue and specimens for complex procedures, collecting, interpreting and analyzing data.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in biological science or a related field with a minimum of four years related research experience. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience with molecular biology, flow cytometry, HPLC and basic statistical analysis experience is desired. The ideal candidate will also have strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities, excellent oral and written communication skills and be team oriented.
