Our client, a specialty pharmaceutical firm in the RTP area, is actively recruiting for a highly skilled, knowledgeable and collaborative Analytical Chemist to assume key role on its R&D team.
Company is experiencing unprecedented growth. It boasts unique technology which is the foundation for its growing portfolio. The R&D group is aggressively pursuing the development of multiple products and this Senior Scientist will be instrumental in that effort.

These are dermatological products (semi-solid). Experience in topical skin diseases would be valuable.
This is a Bench role and a Project Lead role. Seek scientist who combines both skill sets and interests.
This is an emerging business in which policy, practices and procedures are still being refined. Seek candidate with a process-improvement mindset and will have the skill and interest to streamline development activities, enhance method development, help build structure and department policies and practices, etc.
This Scientist will be responsible for simultaneously leading numerous projects. Exceptional scientific credentials must be complemented by superb project management skills.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Lead the development and validation of new test methods with minimal oversight
Conduct and/or manage performance testing on raw materials, drug substance intermediates, APIs, and finished dosage forms
Collaborate with mentor, and train less experienced scientists; May be responsible for supervising direct reports
Lead the creation of standard operating procedures for new or existing analytical equipment
Perform IQ/PQ/OQ, troubleshooting
Handle preventative maintenance and calibration of analytical laboratory equipment
Participate in cross-functional project teams and effectively communicate results
All tasks will be performed in a GMP/GLP compliant facility. Seek candidate who brings the knowledge, discipline and expertise needed to ensure work and related documentation is clean, timely and compliant.
Targeted candidate will offer a Chemistry Degree (advance degree preferred) and 5+ years of directly related analytical chemistry experience, ideally in an emerging pharma setting. Familiarity with the following techniques and instrumentation is expected:
high performance liquid chromatography
ultraviolet to visible spectroscopy
potentiometry (pH titrations)
particle size analyzers
basic wet chemistry
coulometric Karl Fischer titrations
nitric oxide detection
Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy
Other priorities include:
Familiarity with FDA and ICH Guidelines
Strong project management skills, including adept juggling capabilities
Experience with Statistical software such as JMP
Experience with a chromatography data system (CDS) such as Empower
