Integrated Genetics is seeking a Technologist that will focus primarily on Sequencing Data Analysis to join their team! This position will perform DNA Sequencing Analysis for the preparation of diagnostic reporting. Through LabCorp's DNA analysis, genetic mutations can be identified which allow physicians to advise patients of their risk for various forms of cancer including breast, ovarian and colon cancer. Additionally, genetic analysis can aid in identifying inherited disorders to provide the clinician with diagnostic information to treat and monitor individuals. This position will be primarily responsible for compiling computer data analysis, and will not be working inside the laboratory.

The schedule for this position will be: Sunday-Thursday, 12pm-8:30pm

Responsibilities:

-Determine the acceptability of DNA analysis data based on established criteria
-Create electronic quality assurance documentation for Laboratory Director review/approval
-Accurately enter results of testing. Review reports to ensure accurate test result reporting
-Recognize problems and initiate troubleshooting steps to assist in determining resolution

-Work effectively with a group or independently as needed to provide accurate, reliable, and prompt testing results for clients.

Job Requirements


Spacer Image
License/Certification/Education:

-B.A./B.S. in Biology, Medical Technology or related scientific discipline including the completion of 16 credit hours of Biology, 16 credit hours of Chemistry, and 3 credit hours of math
-ASCP Certification, specialty in Molecular Biology (MB) ASCP, Certified Medical Technologist, or equivalent certification highly desired
-Minimum of 1 year of human clinical laboratory experience REQUIRED
-Previous experience with molecular diagnostic methods including DNA isolation, capillary electrophoresis, next generation sequencing, PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, microarray, or MLPA
-Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, experience with laboratory information systems, and DNA analysis software
-Previous exposure and basic understanding of a laboratory accreditation process, proficiency testing, and quality assurance requirements
-Ability to work proficiently with a high attention to detail and ability to review and follow the work of others.
