Research and Development
ScitoVation is dedicated to understanding how chemical compounds affect human health. We help our clients develop safer and more effective pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, commodity chemicals and consumer products.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our biokinetics and biosimulation team to advance chemical safety science. The candidate will become part of an exciting interdisciplinary research program, where we integrate chemical reasoning with mechanism of action information and computational modeling approaches. We seek to improve our understanding of the chemical transformations that occur within the body after exposure to xenobiotics and to build predictive tools that can be applied to other substances of interest. Our goal is to provide a scientifically sound tool to assess the potential for effects of chemicals on human health using in vitro methods.
We are looking for a candidate who has a strong chemical background, especially hands-on experience with xenobiotic and/or drug metabolism studies in vitro, although a degree in chemistry is not required. The best qualified candidates will have backgrounds and associated laboratory skills related to xenobiotic metabolism, medicinal chemistry, chemical pharmacokinetics, and/or toxicological modes of action, and have a strong publication record given their level of experience. We are looking for applicants with 0-2 years of post-doctoral job experience.
Applicants will be considered for a position either as a Post-Doctoral Fellow or a Scientist III position depending on their background and experience.
•Ph.D. with a major in medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry, chemistry, toxicology, engineering, cell biology, pharmacology, or other related disciplines with a rigorous foundation in applied and quantitative science.
•Knowledge of xenobiotic metabolism is strongly preferred.
•Organic chemistry laboratory experience is preferred.
•Coursework in toxicology, public and/or environmental health, pharmacology, or a related field is preferred.
•Cell culture experience (mammalian or microbial) will be an asset.
•Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate is a must.
