Dr. Kris Wood’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at the Duke University School of Medicine is recruiting applicants for a full-time Laboratory Manager / Research Technician position beginning in spring 2017. The Wood lab’s research focuses on cancer genomics as well as the discovery and preclinical development of advanced, personalized anticancer therapeutic strategies. This Research Technician will have two key roles, serving as the laboratory manager and also leading our preclinical drug development studies in mice. Our laboratory, which currently consists of 14 graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, will provide an exciting, friendly, multi-disciplinary, and highly supportive environment for research and learning.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing the lab’s purchasing and organizational efforts
- Performing therapeutic studies in mouse models of cancer
- Assisting with laboratory cellular and molecular biology studies

The ideal candidate will have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in the sciences, strong research interests, and excellent organizational skills. Prior research involving mouse husbandry is a plus but not required. We especially seek candidates with interests in a long-term position.
