Our client, a worldwide leader in courier and warehousing services for the pharmaceutical industry, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly sharp and knowledgeable Trade and Customs Regulations expert to assume key role on its Compliance team.

This global company is growing exponentially. It is essential that it employs best in class policies and practices to ensure compliance with current worldwide regulations. This Senior Manager will be instrumental in that effort. Company will pay industry leading wage to attract and retain a star.

This is a high profile role, with extensive exposure to company and client leadership. Seek candidate whose outstanding technical knowledge is complemented by unwavering professionalism, superb communication skills and keen business savvy.

Position will begin as an individual contributor, with the intention of quickly expanding the team. Seek SME who enjoys a hands-on role, but is also an astute developer of people.

This Manager will regularly interface with Client Project teams, to ensure they understand and consistently employ compliant trade and customs policies. Seek a collaborator.

Company primarily services companies in the Pharmaceutical and other Life Sciences industries - industries that are highly-regulated, and whose products must be moved/warehoused with meticulous attention to protocol.

Seek expert in related FDA standards and practices.

The focus of the role will be ensuring compliance with U.S. and other country trade regulations, with special emphasis on import/export of regulated items, cargo security requirements, transport requirements and other import & export compliance related activities. This Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and driving proper procedures, including documentation. to ensure current trade requirements are followed.

Specifics include:

Ø Create, review and/or update trade and regulatory compliance procedures manuals to maintain controls, record keeping and compliance as necessary

Ø Identify and develop the appropriate tools to manage and monitor Customs Compliance.

Ø Develop and monitor the company’s Export Management Compliance Program (EMCP)

Ø Inform, advise and provide recommendations to clients and agents in relation to regulatory compliance and/or Customs/USDA/FDA requirements, changes in policy and opportunities

Ø Provide training to internal departments on import and export process to ensure proper procedures are followed

Ø Perform periodic compliance audits to verify that internal controls are effective

Ø Monitor government and industry developments (e.g. security, Customs compliance, etc.), and make recommendations regarding modifications to business best practices

Ø Create and update regulatory guidance documents

Ø Coordinate and follow-up on the company’s C-TPAT participation and certification

Ø Develop and implement best practices for C-TPAT program and associated training for complying with agreed to procedures.

Targeted candidate will offer a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience handling similar Trade Regulation Compliance and Global Logistics duties, including substantial experience in the Life Sciences sector. Expert understanding of policies and practices to support import/export of regulated items, cargo security requirements, transport requirements, etc. expected and required.
