Medical Report Writer

Powered Research is looking for a part-time Medical Report Writer responsible for drafting, and coordinating scientific publications and study reports. Primary responsibilities include writing and editing nonclinical data and statistical reports for final review by the Study Directors or senior management. Our company is rapidly growing, and we are looking for an individual committed to excellence. The candidate must be organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities Include:
• Collaborating with study director and other scientific staff to determine format, design, and direction of medical writing deliverables (e.g. tables and figures for data presentation)
• Reviewing all final documents included in deliverables
• Preparing and interpreting statistical data to develop text for deliverables
• Identifying and coordinating meetings with in house reviews to define needed revisions
• Setting timelines for report drafts consistent with contractual obligations
• Tracking data processing timelines
• Designing templates for deliverables
• Promoting business development
• Performing all other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Biological Science
• Experience: 2 or more years relevant writing experience; experience working in drug discovery and or a drug development laboratory or industry based drug development team is preferred
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above
• Scientific knowledge with a pharmacology/biochemistry knowledge base
• Ability to provide appropriate interpretation and description of nonclinical data
• Excellent scientific writing skills with an advanced understanding of statistical analyses
• Excellent grammatical, editorial, and proofreading skills
• Ability to manage large writing projects and coordinate the production of deliverables
• High degree of independence in decision making and problem-solving
• Solid computer, word processing, and spreadsheet skills;
• Ability to use and understand relevant databases and facilitate report production.
• Willingness and ambition to learn and take on additional responsibilities
• Background in ophthalmology a plus
